NatHERS is developing a Data Collector pathway into home energy assessment for people from building, construction, architecture and sustainability backgrounds. EnBright Collect for Data Collectors will support this role in the field when the pathway is ready.
About the Role
What is a Data Collector?
NatHERS assessors are responsible for the final star rating, but gathering raw data from a home is a significant part of the work. NatHERS is developing a new Data Collector pathway that separates these two functions, creating an entry-level route into the home energy sector. A Data Collector visits the home and uses EnBright Collect to capture the measurements, photos and construction information required for a NatHERS assessment. This is then submitted to a NatHERS accredited assessor for review and submission to NatHERS accredited tools like AccuRate.
What a Data Collector does
Conducts on-site home visits to capture construction data: wall types, insulation, window sizes, glazing, orientation, floor type, air sealing gaps and more, all using the EnBright Collect mobile app.
What they don't do
Data Collectors do not produce NatHERS star ratings, sign off on assessment reports, or provide upgrade advice to homeowners. That responsibility stays with the accredited assessor.
